Zotero Installation & Usage

Installation

• Ubuntu

1. Download Zotero from Zotero official website https://www.zotero.org/download/.
2. Extract the downloaded file (e.g Zotero-5.0.82_linux-x86_64.tar.bz2) by right click -> Extract Here .
3. Move the extracted folder into a location of your choice (e.g. ~/Softwares/Zotero_linux-x86_64).
4. Run from the terminal to update the .desktop file for that location.

$ set_launcher_icon

5. Put Zotero on Menu

a) Install Alacarte Menu Editor

$ sudo apt-get install alacarte

b) Open Alacarte $ alacarte and create a new item:

• Name: Zotero
• Icon: [click and browse to the zotero folder: chrome/icons/default/blablabla.png]
• Command: [click and browse the zotero folder for the file named zotero]

Add a new item for Zotero

• Windows

Run the setup program you downloaded.
